Anticipation for me was high, not because I was expecting a lot of announcements (I wasn’t), but because I’ve been to two Celebrations before and had a great time but it was just me & my wife, Debra. This time around I was going to know a bunch of people because of Star Wars Sessions as well as folks from Instagram. On Thursday I went to the ExCel, probably too early to meet Sessions people. But it was fun to hang around and soak up the atmosphere, there were some cosplayers, people going in to collect their badges. Met up with my friend Jimmy from Kansas, then Matt & Luke from SWS, Luke aka One Quarter Portion aka the King of Wales, and others before we headed to Seven Dials Market to meet more people and eat.   A few months ago I set myself a project of making myself a Star Wars patch shirt, that I could wear to conventions, Star Wars events, and if I ever get the chance to go back to Black Spire Outpost. I was inspired by finding these two Oga’s Cantina patches made by the facebook Galaxy’s Edge group ( here ) and trying to decide what to do with them when they arrived. I decided that I wanted to keep the shirt ‘in-universe’ so I started to look for patches of different insignia seen in the universe, searching on Etsy and Instagram. I found an Alphabet Squadron patch made by Nina’s Patches , a Dexter’s Diner patch from NerdMatters , and 4 patches from Ryloth Relics - Saw’s Partisans, Ohnaka Pirate Gang, The Nite Owls and the Andor logo. I wanted to get a military looking shirt and found a khaki green shirt on sale in H&M. Some of the patches I ordered were sew on, others iron on. The Bad Batch Debuts On Disney+ on May 4th A whole host of new Star Wars content arrived on Disney+ on Star Wars day including the 75 minute debut of new animated series, The Bad Batch ( review ). Also released were the Simpsons short ‘Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From It’s Nap’, Star Wars Biomes and Vehicle Flythroughs. The surprise hit for me was Biomes, a slow tv drone style fly through of planets such as Hoth, Tatooine and Mustafar, which I have played more times than I can count already, my only complaint is that at 20 minutes it’s too short, I would love more episodes! Star Wars Celebration 2022 Moved Forward On 12th May it was announced that Star Wars Celebration 2022 was moving from it’s previously announced August to May 26th-29th. The convention had originally been scheduled for June 2020 but had been moved to 2022 due to the pandemic.
