The Starbird Files

  A few months ago I set myself a project of making myself a Star Wars patch shirt, that I could wear to conventions, Star Wars events, and if I ever get the chance to go back to Black Spire Outpost. I was inspired by finding these two Oga’s Cantina patches made by the facebook Galaxy’s Edge group ( here ) and trying to decide what to do with them when they arrived. I decided that I wanted to keep the shirt ‘in-universe’ so I started to look for patches of different insignia seen in the universe, searching on Etsy and Instagram. I found an Alphabet Squadron patch made by Nina’s Patches , a Dexter’s Diner patch from NerdMatters , and 4 patches from Ryloth Relics - Saw’s Partisans, Ohnaka Pirate Gang, The Nite Owls and the Andor logo. I wanted to get a military looking shirt and found a khaki green shirt on sale in H&M. Some of the patches I ordered were sew on, others iron on.   Victory’s Price by Alexander Freed (Del Rey) It may have only been July last year that I read Shadow Fall but it feels like it’s been a a lot longer especially with all the High Republic stories we have had. But I had really enjoyed the first two books in Alexander Freed’s Alphabet Squadron trilogy, so I was excited to get started on Victory’s Price. I did find it difficult to remember where we had left our team but I did remember my feeling that Yrica Quell had returned to the 204th to take them down from inside.  Shadow Wing are back at it, razing planets, this time planets loyal to other Imperial factions, and we get confirmation early on that Yrica does indeed intend to betray Soran Keize and the 204th to the New Republic. It took me a while to really get into the book with Alphabet Squadron so fractured, not that they’d exactly been tight to begin with!
